First of all let us get an idea about the true meaning of the words «murid» and «murshid» in the dictionary. Each of the words comes from the Arabic language. «Murshid» - is derived from the word «irshod», which means to guide, or direct. So, «murshid» means a person who guides a student towards one goal; he is a director, a teacher, a leader. The word «murid» - is derived from the root of the word «iroda». The word «Iroda» compiles in itself such meanings like wish, desire, will, goal. Thus, a murid is a person connected to the will of a murshid (teacher), and he must follow his programs in practice. In Sufism, any scholar, righteous person or a student is guided and directed by murshid. Murid rises higher in his level with the help and guidance of murshid, and studies and learns such sciences like mysticism, different teachings, Sufism.

The Shariah, the teaching, the truth…. In each one if these words there lays huge meaning. We will not make a mistake if we call a person who knows and follows the Shariah a Muslim, we call the one who is in a given teaching a scholar, and the one who knows the truth a Sufi.
